Recognisable images captured by CCTV systems are “Personal Data” and an organisation operating CCTV on its premises would be categorised as a data controller when installing and collecting images and recordings of individuals.

As the collection of such images is seen as a type of processing of personal data, all usage of CCTV, other than in a purely domestic context, which captures recognisable images must therefore be undertaken in compliance with the requirements of data protection legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) when it comes into force in May 2018.

A CCTV Sign should include the purpose of CCTV where such purpose is not obvious. 

Our sign also has "write on" tabs for an indelible marker where you can put the name of the data controller and the contact information for same. We also offer the facility to have these printed on laminated vinyl and added to the sign at no extra cost.

All our signage comes fully laminated to ensure that it has longevity and holds up to weathering. We do however offer an non-laminate corriboard for cheaper temporary signage. 

For long lasting outdoor and industrial signage we recommend 3mm Dibond Aluminium with a fully laminated finish.
