Today Google is no less than an encyclopedia that offers you information or knowledge on everything under the sky, and everyone is familiar to the popular phrase 'Google it'. Be it Google Glass, or Street view or navigation, Google has always been there as your guide.

Here are ten unconventional yet convenient ways to use Google:

1. Translation and Dictionary:
With the help of Google translation you can translate foreign languages. It gives you the option to 'translate from' as well as 'translate to'. For instance: "translate hola from Spanish to English". If you are interacting with an online friend sitting overseas, who does not speaks in your language Google translate is always there for your rescue.
Besides if you are looking for any word-meaning or antonym or synonym or a one word substitute, you just Google it.
2. Conversions and stock:
Be converting room temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius or converting energy from Kilo-watt to amperes or converting foreign currencies to local, Google does the needful.

Not only this, in case stock market interests you, all you need to do is just enter the company's name suffixed with the word stock, you will find a default view that shows you the day's valuation, which can be changed and fixed to 5 days, a month , and so on up to the time the company was first listed.
3. Navigation:
The Google's street view has eased the driving. So if you are at an unfamiliar place, you can simply type your destination and find the directions. Other than this Google also tells the estimated time, traffic and alternate route if available.
4. General Knowledge:
As mentioned in the opening lines "Google offers you information/ knowledge on anything under the sky" it would be fair to title it as your GK book. From the life of 'Abraham Lincoln' to 'Life of Pi' you can find anything and everything on Google.
5. Flight information:
Incase you are a frequent traveler, Google can be of a great help to you. Any information regarding arrival or departure of a flight, or a flight number, or the terminal or any other information; all you do is just 'Google it'.
6. Synchronization:
Smartphone users have an option to synchronize their phone with their Google account. So all your contacts including phone numbers mails ids etc. in the smartphone are available in your Gmail account and vice-a-versa.
7. Stars, Planets and the solar system:
Which is the largest planet in the solar system? Or why is Pluto no longer a Planet? Or What Galaxy earth falls in? Or to find out the difference between a comet and a star or a black hole, Google is the place.
8. Sports:
Google is the ultimate destination to trace all the sporting tournaments, be it IPL, FIFA or Wimbledon, Google has all the information about previous matches, players, teams, predictions and so on up its sleeve.
9. Films and entertainment:
Be it a film release or a novel or a music release, 'Google it' is the first thing you do. Google gives you access to different portals that offer you the information about, the ongoing shows, upcoming releases and so on.
10. Time and weather:
World is divided into different time zones (If you don't know how many, just write "How many time Zones are there in the world" and find your answer). So if you've fixed a time for international call with a friend / family, acquaintance or a if it is an important business call, you just search for 'Time in Auckland' or any other city. Similar functions applies to the weather also.
