“Warm Bodies” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” actress Analeigh Tipton has come on board the indie thriller “Viral,” directed by “Catfish” helmers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.
Horror film powerhouse Jason Blum is producing through Blumhouse Productions along with Matt Kaplan of Chapter One Films and Sherryl Clark of Busted Shark.
IM Global is co-financing the film with BHI. Blumhouse International is handling foreign sales; Dimension Films has acquired the U.S. distribution rights.
IM Global’s Stuart Ford and Matt Jackson are exec producing with Charles Layton.
Joost and Schulman, who also directed the third and fourth “Paranormal Activity” films, will helm from a script by Barbara Marshall with rewrites by Christopher Landon.
Tipton will portray a woman with a sister who lives a seemingly normal life in their small suburban neighborhood. But when their county succumbs to the spread of a parasitic virus, they’re put to the test to survive a city-wide quarantine.
Tipton will next be seen in “Two Night Stand” with Miles Teller. She also appears in “4 Minute Mile,” “Lucy” and “Mississippi Grind.”
