Olá People,

If you are Visiting Portugal, Chances are Sintra is on the list of Recommended places and rightfully so for its quietness and Views of the Sea from the hills. No Wonder it is a retirement home to many rich and famous from the all over the world.

First stop, From the western most tip of the Europe, I present to you Cabo da Roca on Sintra Mountain Range of Portugal.

To say the views were breathtaking would be an under statement.

Cape Roca is the western tip of European continent and while I was standing there I realized that I have also been to the Southern most tip of the African Continent i.e. “Cape of Good Hope” in Cape Town South Africa, which was found by the Portuguese explorer. Crazy Right? What were the chances..

Travelling stories aside, the views from the top was to die for, vivid shades of Blue with every step of the way.

After Cape Roca, Our next spot in the Sintra was the famous and UNESCO world heritage, Park and Palace of Pena.

Under the bright Sun of Lisbon, Park and Palace of Pena shines from far, even before you reach on the top. Its an Idyllic palace with colorful towers surrounded by greenery puts up a romantic picture for the royalty who might lived here and now for the visitor.

Few Tips from my side if you are planning to visit Sintra in near future, hope it would help:

  1. You can take a direct Train from Lisbon to Sintra, its quiet frequent and very convenient. Take a Two -way ticket from Lisbon, you can use it for any train.
  2. Book the Visiting Slot for Pena Palace in advance. The Time mentioned in the slot is for entrance to the palace. It takes approx. 45 min to reach the Palace gates from the entrance to the park. Its an Uphill walk so wear comfortable shoes.
  3. It gets very crowded during the holiday season so plan the timings accordingly.
  4. Book an Uber, It would be cheap compared to the tourist cabs, you will found outside the station.
  5. Keep Some cash with you as not all shops, ticket counters accept cards, especially the Train station ticket counters.

Hope you liked Sintra..

Until Next time, See Yaa.

  3. I have been there a few years ago and it really was great! But it was too early in spring to enjoy the beautiful flowers that cover the ground at Cabo da Roca. So I should visit it again 🙂
