Hyundai Motor builds medical center for employees at Namyang R&D Center

South Korea¡¯s Hyundai Motor Co. will build its fourth medical center for employees at its main research and development center at home to ensure employees` well-being and prevent industrial accidents through training.

Hyundai Motor on Monday broke ground for a new three-story medical building for 12,000 employees at Namyang R&D Center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province with an aim to complete construction of the medical center on a land of 9,871 square feet by the first half of 2022.

The new medical center will provide the company employees various health care and medical services ranging from ambulatory care to regular health checkups, Chinese medical treatment and non-smoking clinics. For prevention of work-related industrial accidents, physical therapy, kinesitherapy, safety and health education, health counseling service will also be offered.

Hyundai Motor has already built health management centers at its main manufacturing sites in Ulsan, Jeonju and Asan to provide various medical services for its employees since 2016. This is part of the company¡¯s efforts to improve employees¡¯ well-being.

¡°With the new medical center, the company will keep promoting systematic health care programs to bring healthy and happy lives of all employees,¡± said Park Jung-kook, vice chief of Hyundai Motor¡¯s Namyang R&D Center.
