The MTV European Music Awards was broadcast live on Sunday night from Dusseldorf, Germany.

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift bagged a total of six nominations and took big awards including Best Artist, Best Video, Best Pop, and Best Longform Video for All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).

Rita Ora and Taika Waititi were the event hosts which included performances by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, Muse, Ava Max, Stormzy, One Republic, Gayle, Lewis Capaldi, and Tate McRae among others. The Ukrainian Band Kalush Orchestra also showed their support for Ukraine with a powerful performance.

Meanwhile, Super Bass singer Nicki Minaj won Best Song for Super Freaky Girl, and Best Hip Hop. The English singer-songwriter, Harry Styles who lead the nominations field with a total of seven was awarded Best Live.

David Guetta and Bebe Rexha won Best Collaboration for I’m Good (Blue). Rita Ora won Best Look ‘Personal Style’, and Sam Smith took Video for Good for Unholy feat. Kim Petras.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa took Best K-Pop this year which saw nominations from her group, as well as BTS, Itzy, Seventeen, and Twice. Whereas K-Pop boy band BTS took the award for Biggest Fans for the fifth consecutive year.

The South Korean boy band Seventeen won Best New as well as Best Push. The K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK took the EMA’s newest category, Best Metaverse Performance, for their virtual PUBG Mobile concert.

Best Latin: Anitta

Best Electronic: David Guetta

Best Rock: Muse

Best Alternative: Gorillaz

Best R&B: Chlӧe

Generation Change: Lina Deshvar, Anna Kutova, and Anfisa Yakovina
