Description
The Yulong Guo Chamber Concert Double -Top Classical Guitar is a truly world-class concert guitar by acclaimed Chinese luthier, Yulong Guo. This instrument comes with your choice of a Spruce or Cedar top. It is made from the highest quality, master grade woods. The back and sides are Indian Rosewood, with decorative maple inlay. The soundboard has a double-top design, similar to the one invented by Matthias Dammann in Germany in the late 1980s. This top consists of two super thin layers of wood, with a Nomex honeycombed structure between the tops. This guitar has a double layered arched braceless back for greater strength, volume and projection. The fretboard is elevated for easier access above the 12th fret. It has a Spanish cedar neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, one port hole in the side, an ebony armrest, and a 20th fret. The scale length is 650mm. The width at the nut is 52mm, and the width at the 12th fret is 62mm. The tuners are by Der Jung. This is a stunningly beautiful guitar, with huge volume, and the quality of the sound is breathtaking. The quality of workmanship and the sound produced by this guitar compare favorably with world-class concert instruments costing much more. An exclusive hard-shell case is included in the price.

Hi Richard,
“This guitar has been possibly the best purchase I have EVER made. I was upgrading from a pretty good guitar and mainly wanted more volume, but the added bells and whistles like the elevated fret board were a bonus. However, this guitar has done so much more that just “be louder”. It is incredibly balanced and I can finally play pieces with dense and busy voicings and make each one come out if I want to. Most notable to me is the sustain–especially of the fretted trebles. I have played too many guitars where those notes die very quickly and this guitar overcomes that completely. This guitar just sings.
Additionally, Richard had it set up with very low action that allowed for wonderful playability but I was worried it wouldn’t work for me when I really wanted to hammer out a note. After a couple weeks, though, I realize it is so loud so easily that the way I was used to playing made it so loud I (and others) have to yell over this guitar. I will no longer need to waste energy to hammer out an important note.
Finally, everything about the guitar is just gorgeous. The porthole with Guo’s logo cut into the wood, the maple stripe for decoration on the arched back, the dragons on the headstock; it is really one of the nicest guitars I’ve seen.
I can’t recommend this guitar enough, especially considering the price and Richard’s kind spirit and willingness to make sure you’re happy with it. The only reason I will spend money on another classical guitar will probably be to get the cedar-topped one as well!”
I really can’t thank you enough for your accommodation, Richard and I hope your business thrives and your move goes well!
All the best,
Devin

It sounds and feels world class. So many very nice guitars deliver in one, or maybe two tonal ranges, so that some notes do not have the richness of other notes, but the Chamber Concert delivers all the way across the full range.

I can honestly say if anyone is in the market for a really nice instrument, at bargain prices this is an instrument to try. Go ahead, play it against instruments of greater value and you will be as pleased with the Yulong Guo as I am. You said it right, Richard, when you were talking to Warren about this guitar, this is a guitar that some one will have for years into the future. I can hardly wait to hear what it sounds like in a couple of years as it ages. As I have said in the past, you can not go wrong dealing with Richard Goyette, his integrity is second to none, and is as honest a man as they come. If any of you who are reading this have doubts about Richard or this guitar just ask Richard for my contact information and give me a call. I have been doing business with the Goyette Guitar Center for a couple of years or more now and have never been given any reason to look elsewhere. Look, I figure if John Williams gave his thumbs up for this guitar, then who am I to second guess one of the best there is! Mike Lucas Canada

I have put my new Yulong Guo Chamber Concert guitar through all the ensembles I currently perform in and the guitar shined. I currently perform with a soprano, with another guitarist, and solo works. In each of the settings the guitars’ projection, balance, clarity, and playability were all impeccable. Thanks for working with me and matching me with this fine instrument.

I wanted to thank your wife and you for accommodating me so early yesterday morning. There is no substitute for being able to try out the guitar in person. I went to the Guitar Solo in San Francisco the day before and tried out about 10 different guitars ranging from $4,350 to about $18,000. I was drastically disappointed in the sound of most of the guitars that were so highly priced. Even those guitars in the $18,000 range didn’t have what I was looking for.
After watching the videos on your website and reading the reviews, I made a decision to come out to Folsom (2 hours away) and try out the Yulong Guo Chamber Concert Classical. Since I had to fly back to Texas the next day at 11:00am, I had to make arrangements for you to meet me at 6:30am. For it to work, I had to make a decision on the guitar, go back to the hotel to pick up my wife, drive back to the SFO airport (2 hours away), check in the car and check in to the flight by 10:00am. So I had a tight schedule. You had all the guitars laid out which made it easy to try each of them. I immediately fell for the Chamber Concert with a spruce top, you could say it was love at first sight (hearing). You suggested that you play both the cedar top and the spruce top so I could hear which sound I liked best. I had already opted for spruce top but when I heard you play both guitars the Spruce top was the instant winner, no questions whatsoever.
When I got home I was worried I’d have buyers remorse. I’m a beginning player so I was worried about spending so much money on a guitar that is so far above my capabilities. However, after I was able to spend some practice time with the guitar, I’m so happy with the decision I made. Not only is the guitar beautiful , but it has a brightness, depth and evenness that is fantastic. The volume is strong without being overbearing, the notes have tremendous sustain especially in the upper registers, and the sound remains true through the entire fingerboard. Due to the raised fingerboard, the upper register is easy to get to. It’s a different playing experience than anything I’ve played before.
What tipped the scales is your professionalism. You are a true professional and I enjoyed the opportunity to work with you. Again, thanks for your help and assistance. I’m a tremendously satisfied customer.

I just received my spruce top Yulong Guo Chamber Concert Guitar. It felt like the best Christmas or birthday ever! Just opening the case, I was immediately impressed by the breathtaking beauty of this fine instrument. It looks – and feels – wonderful. Just holding it was a pleasure. But the real delight began with starting to play. I just couldn’t stop smiling! The tone is absolutely heavenly!
I don’t know that I can add anything new or different from what previous reviewers have said. Mostly, I can only echo what others have noted about this fabulous guitar. The tone is assuredly crisp and clear, with that characteristic “woodiness” expected from a spruce top. It has both brightness and depth, offering a wide range of tone color. It has perfect balance, with crystalline trebles, rich bases, and superb midtones. The sustain and overtones have to be heard in person to be fully appreciated, and this guitar will definitely not disappoint on those points. I particularly love the wide range of dynamics if offers – whisper soft to forte – without any loss of clarity or tone quality. The playability is excellent. I already feel that this guitar is making me a better, more expressive player! It is definitely a friendly and responsive guitar, and Richard can be counted on to set it up perfectly. I am also greatly enjoying the experience of the side port – what a great feature! I cannot say enough good things about this guitar. It is truly a world class instrument, finer than any I ever thought to own – truly my “dream guitar.” I absolutely love it!
Richard is a man with a mission: to provide absolutely wonderful guitars at the most affordable prices possible, and he fulfills it with the utmost helpfulness and honesty. Anyone hesitant about buying a guitar sight unseen, unheard in person needn’t worry. This is the second guitar I have purchased from Richard – actually the third. Despite the usefulness of the video demos on the website, the first one wasn’t quite what I wanted – my fault for not quite knowing what I really wanted and not communicating my expectations clearly. Richard said to return it – no problem – and after talking with him more, I was able to secure the guitar I really wanted. (That one is a solid cedar top. It’s so nice to have both!) I would definitely highly recommend not only Richard’s guitars, (all of which are easily worth two to three times the cost) but Richard himself as well. People of such integrity are rare.

The Guo Chamber guitar arrived safely. It is extraordinary! It has a bright overall sound, perfect for live recitals, along with a rich versatility in sound from quite warm to extremely bright which I will enjoy exploring. This is a remarkable instrument, especially for the price. THANK YOU for creating an entirely safe and informative shopping experience and for being a man of enthusiasm and integrity.

Yulong Guo Chamber Concert Double-Top Classical Guitar, Cedar Top.
Beautiful, Excellent, Craftmanship, Sound, Volume, Tone, Wood. Tuners. Polished Frets, Hard Case.
Our search is over. The Guitar and case are excellent. A pleasure to look at and play. The volume is a wow and the tone keep us playing. Soothing with power, Great! We heard about a “fast fret board,” I now know what that means. We will learn and play better. The guitar just feels great. Our music sounds better and we are very pleased with this decision.
Thank you Richard.

I absolutely love my 2016 Yulong Guo Chamber Concert spruce guitar. I’ve been playing it regularly in weekly performances in churches, nursing homes, and medical facilities’ lobbies for 6 years. What is not often mentioned is that people’s first reaction is to the wonderful case — very attractive! And sturdy. I am repeatedly enthralled by the purfling and rosette. The red design, highlighted by the green is marvelous to behold. I’ve never had an arm rest on a guitar before and it’s a wonderful addition. The volume and sustain are excellent. But I am especially impressed with the projection. Amplification is only needed in very large venues or outdoors. I’m certain if anything ever happens to this one, I’ll buy another Yulong Guo

In life, we get to meet just a few Gems in family, friends, and business, Richard Goyette is truly one of them. I’ve gotten two guitars from him over the last 3 yeasrs (one lower priced and one toward the top end) and both were more than promised and at extremely moderate and fair prices. Additionally, it was all truly quick and easy on my side. Richards goes way out of his way to make it a warm and great experience. We could all benefit from more people like him on the Planet.

I consider myself fortunate to own a Yulong Guo Chamber Concert guitar. It embodies all that I have been searching for many years. The clarity of the trebles is bright with strong and lasting vibration. The bass strings provide a deep sense of satisfaction. Overall beautiful design and manufacturing elevate the guitar to the highest standards. It is a rare privilege to own a Guo.
