Karatay Madrasa was built by Seljuk Emir Celaleddin Karatay in 1251. The madrasah, which was also used during the Ottoman period, was abandoned at the end of the 19th century. The madrasa was opened to visitors in 1955 as the Tile Works Museum. Beyşehir Kubad-Abad Palace wall tiles and glass plates, tile and ceramic plates, and oil lamps from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods discovered in Konya and its vicinity are exhibited at the museum.
