Description of Dos Navigator's startup parameters (DN.INI file)

[Interface]
EscForOutputWindow = bool - When set to 0, the Esc key pressing acts the
same as Alt-F5 pressing (User screen), when
set to 1 - the same as Ctrl-O pressing (Output
window)
(default: 0)
SkipXLatMenu = bool - When set to 0, the XLat table in viewer
(Shift-F6) can be choosen by convenient menu,
when set to 1 - by unconvenient, but habitual
for some old DN users file dialog
(default: 0)
UseEnterInViewer = long - When set to 0, the Enter key pressing in viewer
does nothing. When set to 1, the Enter key
pressing will close viewer window. When set
to 2, the Enter key pressing will switch
between text, hexadecimal and dump viewing modes
in viewer.
(default: 0)
PreserveMenuPositions = bool - When switched on, the current positions in
all menus will be preserved when program will
be started next time.
(default: 0)
HistoryErrorBeep = bool - If switched on, Del key pressing on the "frozen"
item in input history will cause the sound
signal. Otherwise Del pressing on such item will
be just ignored.
(default: 1)
ReuseViewers = long,
ReuseEditors = long - The first parameter defines the behaviour of
viewer vindows, the second one defines the
behaviour of editor windows. When value is set
to 1, then user will be asked for activation of
existing window instead of opening of the second
window for the same file. When value is set
to 2, such activation will be done
automatically. Zero value will cause opening of
new window always.
(default: 0)
ReflectCopyDirection = bool - When set to 1, the copy progress indicator will
grow from right to left side if files are
being copied from right panel to left one.
(default: 0)
VertScrollBarChars = str,
HorizScrollBarChars = str - set the symbols for scrollbar drawing and
consist of 5 symbols: first and last symbols,
bar symbol, grip symbol and empty bar symbol.
(default: ±þ²)
SystemMenuChar = long - sets the symbol, used in first item of main
menu. Symbol can be set by it's number in ASCII
table
(default: 4)
DriveSelectVCenter = bool - When set to 1, then drive choice window
(Alt-F1/Alt-F2) will be aligned vertically in
cener of the screen
(default: 0)
WinManagerSelectNext = bool - When set to 1, then window choise by Alt-0 will
highlite by default the window following after
current instead current window
(default: 1)
CutDriveInfo = bool - When set to 1, then drive descriptions in drive
choice window (Alt-F1/Alt-F2) will be shortened
(default: 1)

[Clock]
RightAlignClock = bool - When set to 1, then the clock will be always
adjacent to the right screen border
(default: 0)
DaysOfWeek = str - Allows to set the names for the days of week,
which will be shown in clock area when Ctrl is
pressed. These names can be different from
current language defaults. If the value of this
key has 14-character length, then the days of
week will have two-character names, whereas
if the value of the key has 21-character
length, then the days of week will have
three-character names. The names of the days
of week must be listed without spaces or any
separators, beginning from Sunday.
For example: SunMonTueWedThuFriSat. If parameter
is blank or has wrong length, then two-character
names will be used, which are defined in
language resources.
(default: use language default)
ShowDayOfWeek = bool - Show day of week when Ctrl is pressed.
(default: 1)
ShowCentury = bool - Show four digits for current year when Ctrl
is pressed.
(default: 1)
ShowSeconds = bool - Show seconds.
(default: 1)
BlinkSeparator = bool - Switches on/off the separator blinking in the
clock when the key ShowSeconds is switched off.
(default: 1)

[SmartPad]
LineChar = long - Allows to set the symbol used as a separator in
the SmartPad. The symbol must be set by it's
number in ASCII table. The pseudographycal
symbol used as default (-) could be unsuitable
sometimes because it can not be translated to
another code page.

InsertDate = bool - Insert the date when opening SmartPad.
(default: 1)

EnableGame = bool - When set to 0, then built-in game is disabled.

MaxClipboardSize = long - The maximal stored Clipboard size
(default: 4096)
SaveClipboardOnExit = bool - To save or not to save the Clipboard until
next program start

CtrlBreakKill = bool
SmartWindowsBoxClose = long - Defines the reaction of DN/2 on attempt to
close the console window with the system close
button or through the window's system menu:
0 - no reaction (standard console application
behaviour)
1 - the same reaction as after Alt-X pressing
or exiting program through the main menu
2 - the same as 1, but without confirmation
to exit program
3 - simulates reaction to Ctrl-Break pressing
(default: 0)
StoreVideoMode = long - Defines how to store video mode chosen from
menu:
0 - don't store
1 - store as user-defined video mode 1
2 - store as user-defined video mode 2
(default: 0)
CoàyLimit = long - Sets the limit of copying buffer in kilobytes.
Value 0 means no buffer limitation.
(default: 8192)
ShowKeyCode = long - This key should be changed only for debug
purpose. Possible values:
0 - Don't show key kodes
1 - Show Scan/ASCII pairs in separate window
2 - Show Scan code in upper right corner
3 - both 1 and 2 simultaneously
(default: 0)
AutoSave = bool - Save all DN.INI keys after restart
(default: 1)
ForceDefaultArchiver = str - Can take a value of one of supported types of
archivers (see "Archive files" dialog) or
empty string. If non-empty value set - the
archiver defined by this key will be always
chosen in archiving dialog as default archiver
(default: empty)

[Editor]
AutoBracketPairs = str - Allows to define any number of symbol pairs,
which are concerned to be a brackets for
AutoBrackets function. (Note: this key has no
relation to paired brackets search function)
default: ()[]{}<>
WinManagerPosToEdit = bool - When set to 1, then the cursor in
Windows Manager opened from the editor
by Alt-0 pressing will be positioned to next
editor window instead positioning to next window
of any type.
Note: This key action has higher priority then
WinManagerSelectNext key.
(default: 1)
FastSearchDeep = long - The searching of keyword pairs like "begin/end"
etc. can fail when commentaries contain these
words (loosing pairs count). Setting of maximal
searching depth (for example, 300 lines) allows
to prevent unlimited searching through the file
with long waiting time.
(default: 0 - unlimited search)
DefCodePage = str - Allows to set default code page for new files.
This key can take values Dos, Win, Koi, Auto.
When Auto set, then the attempt of code page
autodetect will be undertaken.
(default: Dos)
FastBookmark = bool - Show (1) or hide (0) the quick bookmarks launch
bar on the lower editor window border.
(default: 1)
ShowBookmarks = bool - To show (1) bookmarks in editor.
(default: 1)
AutoScopeDetect = bool - Autodetection of string search/replace scope
in editor: if there is selected text then to
search/replace in selected text, otherwice
global.
(default: 1)
DrawRShift = bool - To switch between single and double line drawing
in editor by Right Shift.
(default: 1)
UnlimitUnindent = bool - Allows to define behaviour of block shifting
leftward with Ctrl+K U or Alt-Left - to shift
until all strings could be shifted or to shift
always.
(default: 0)
F6_DuplicatesLine = bool - When set to 1, F6 in editor used
for current line duplication.
(default: 1)

[FilePanels]
AddExecutables = string
The list of file extensions. The files with these
extensions will be shown as executables.
Example: AddExecutables=rex;vbs
(default: empty)
QuickRenameInDialog = bool - When set to 1, then Quick Rename (by Alt-F6)
will be done in separate dialog window.
(default: 0)
ShowLongName = bool - Show long file name (if any) in selected files
informatiom line (if there is neither selected
files nor panel mask).
(default: 1)
ShowFileMask = bool - Show file mask if it differs from *.*
(default: 1)
UpperCaseSorting = bool - Sort file names converted to upper (1) or lower
(0) case
(default: 0)

[NetInfo]
NoLevelsInfo = bool - Don't show the network information SFT/TTS Lev.
Note: in DN/2 does not affects anything and kept
for compatibility with DN OSP 16bit.

[TaskList]
ShowExePaths = bool - When set to 0, then the executables the
processes were started from will be shown as
names only, when set to 1 - as names with full
path.
(default: 0)
KillAllowed = bool - When set to 0, then there is a possibility to
kill the process.
(default: 0)
FilteredList = bool - When set to 1, then only those processes will
be shown in the tasl list, which are switchable
(i.e. it is possible to make them active) and
are absent in user exception list. When set to
0, then all processes will be shown.
(default: 1)
UserTaskFilter = str - Allows to set the executables' names for the
processes which are need to be excluded from
task list. The names must be separated with "#"
symbol.

[Language]
ShowLanguageMenu = bool - The value 1 means, that choosing the
"Change language" command in menu or pressing
Alt-F12 will show the menu containing list of
all languages available (the set of available
languages is defined by searching of resource
files in DN and %DNDLG% directories). This is
convenient when there is more then two
languages installed in program. Te value 0
(default) means that the "Change language"
command or Alt-F12 pressing will automatically
switch to next language available after current.
(default: 0)
HelpLanguageOverride = str - When non-empty value is set, then it will be
concerned to be the name of the help system
language. For example, when
"HelpLanguageOverride=english" is set, then
the help file "english.hlp" will be used.
When value is empty or key is absent, then
help file for current (active) language will be
used. If help file for active language is
absent, then help file for English language
will be used.
(default: )
ActiveLanguage = str - When non-empty value is set, then it will be
used as a current language name. For example,
when "ActiveLanguage=russian" is set, then
resource files "russian.*" will be used.
When value is empty or key is absent, then
the "DNLNG" environment variable will be used.
If this environment variable is absent as well,
then English language will be used.
