VidCon: Felicia Day says 'Supernatural' stars are 'the most handsome humans ever'

Felicia Day doesn’t want you to think she’s a creeper, but she really, really loves her Supernatural costars.

While speaking at the Entertainment Weekly and People Interview Stage at VidCon 2015, the actress and Geek & Sundry honcho called Supernatural leads Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles “some of the nicest, down-to-earth people I’ve ever met.”

“I was so intimidated when I met them, because first of all, they’re large. They’re very tall,” said Day, who played hacker extraordinaire Charlie Bradbury in a recurring role in the long-running series. “Second of all, they’re extremely handsome. I don’t mean to objectify anyone, but they are some of the most handsome humans ever. Large, handsome humans. Then they hug really good, and they’re so kind? And I’m like, ‘Can I hug again? I don’t mean to be pervy.’ Whenever I got picked up by Jared in a scene, I’m like, ‘You are a Hulk. He’s the Hulk in person.’ “

Day, who has dozens of TV credits to her name in addition to popular game-centric webseries like The Guild and TableTop, was asked by host Trisha Hershberger which project was the most fun to film.

“Probably Dr. Horrible,” said Day, who starred in the Joss Whedon musical comedy alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion.

With her Geek & Sundry YouTube network and multimedia company, Day has made a career out of creating content for the Internet, and credits Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog as a catalyst.

“It was kind of a turning point in web content that hasn’t even been realized now,” she said. “It was these fancy people — ‘fancy,’ because they are awesome — from TV, and they decided to make something essentially in their backyards and finance it themselves for the Internet. It really was the first thing to push Hollywood to see the web as legitimate, as far as where you could [share] content. It was such a phenomenon. To this day, I meet people who are cosplaying as Dr. Horrible. Just the process of creating a family and creating something that affected so many people, maybe turned the tide of a whole industry? I’m so grateful to be a part of it.”
